María Eugenia Orellana Torres

María Eugenia Orellana Torres, MD, MSc, PhD, is a distinguished ocular pathologist who contributed significantly to our lab from 2008 to 2009. During her time with us, she performed gross pathology on a variety of specimens, evaluated all immunohistochemistry cases for both diagnostic and research purposes, and managed biopsy and cytology cases alongside Dr. Burnier. She also prepared lectures, contributed to papers for publication, and successfully completed her PhD thesis. She has co-authored over 15 research papers with our team. She was recently honored with an award for Outstanding Research Professor by the Faculty of Medicine at Universidad Central de Venezuela. Her expertise and dedication continue to shape the field of ocular pathology.
